70 YEARS AND COUNTING!
In 1940, C.R. Yancey and his family traveled from California to Colorado and began providing customers with fresh produce in a small fruit stand. C.R.’s fruit stand became his passion, starting a family tradition that remains strong today.
C.R.’s son, Ed Yancey, soon followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the company in the early 1960’s. As Ed Yancey’s passion grew, so did the company. In 1972, Ed took over the reins and the company's product lines began to expand beyond produce. New customers were established by providing grocery, dairy, meat and non-food items.
In the early 1980’s, C.R.’s grandson, Greg Yancey, continued the tradition and began meeting the challenges of a changing food industry. Over the next twenty-five years, Yancey’s went from a small local company who supported about 100 customers to a large regional distribution company with over 4,500 items in-stock, servicing over 1,800 customers across four states.
Today, with 70 years of success, C.R.’s great-granddaughter and great-grandson have now joined the Yancey’s team. With hard work, dedication to excellence and a strong commitment to customer service, Yancey’s has enjoyed amazing experiences in the food service industry. We attributed our long, rich history of successes to the perseverance and greatness of our customers who have helped us grow to become a top 50 food distribution company in the United States.
